Tell Me a Story
How many times have you sat mesmerized by the articulate and interactive tales of a good storyteller? Stories are powerful! Everyone has at least one but not everyone is willing to share.
Did you know that when you share a story from your life it can change the journey of someone else simply through the hearing? It's true. Have you seen the commercial about the one act of kindness birthing multiple acts of kindness because one person started the cycle and someone else followed suit? It is the same when we share a story from our own life, especially the struggles... in the telling the reader or listener becomes family, they are no longer alone and they are free to share of themselves, it can be so sweet.
I've found myself sharing a lot lately... not because I made a decision to suddenly share, it has occurred through the nudging of others and the gentle leading of the Holy Spirit. In that time of sharing two things are happening, hearts are being opened and relationships are being created.
When I share, it's not long and drawn out, it's more like sound-bites, pertinent to the situation but potent in content, that's how I know it's from the Holy Spirit, LOL, because if it was all from me, I'd still be talking... oops, sharing.
My heart is becoming less guarded and fearful of rejection, and in the telling of story others are being drawn into my world where we can converse and interact without judgment. It feels good. It feels right.
Do you share your story? If not, what's holding you back? I'd love to hear your thoughts and ... your story.
